Anton’s First Public Talk
By Jac | January 3, 2009
Here are some photos from Anton’s first public talk, which was Saturday December 27th, 2008. Talk No. 156 “Judgment Day – A Day of Fear or Hope”
A lot of our friends came from the talk… some from local congregations here in
Santiago, a couple of cool girls from Bonao, and even a good friend all the way from Hato Mayor! (That is like 4 hours away!)
I walked in late… with several students in tow. I had dropped Anton off at the hall beforehand and went to pick them up. It was one of Anton’s student’s first meetings (Luis). I am sure you will hear more about him soon, as he is one amazing kid.
Anton did a great job. I know he feels he could have done better, but I would imagine that is pretty common. It was raining that day, but you could feel the congregation swell with pride as they watched a young brother express his zeal and love for Jehovah’s righteous standards.
There is such a need for trained brothers to give talks that we have already been called by other neighboring congregations to schedule Anton to visit and give a talk. Today one brother from Mao (about an hour away) called to see if Anton could give a last minute replacement
talk tomorrow afternoon. Sadly we can’t make the trip tomorrow, but Anton said he would be happy to be put on the schedule to go out in a couple of weeks. Jessica and I are excited to be able to visit other congregations with him as he travels to give talks; it is so faith strengthening to see brothers from all different walks of life praising our Creator.
It makes me so happy to see Anton reaching out and progressing spiritually. It is wonderful to be trained by Jehovah and guided by the Holy Spirit.
A sister said she managed to record some of the talk, so hopefully we will get that from her shortly and get it posted up.
